Le Macchiole made its name on three of Bolgheri's most coveted single-varietal reds — Paleo (Cabernet Franc), Messorio (Merlot), and Scrio (Syrah). The Bolgheri Rosso is the estate's accessible blend, drawing from the same farming and the same cellar but in a more open, immediate register. Cinzia Merli has carried on her late husband Eugenio Campolmi's vision with characteristic precision. This is the entry into Le Macchiole's world — and a delicious one.
