Another rare survivor from Nervi, the oldest cellar in Gattinara, and from a notable year: 1967 was the vintage Gattinara earned its DOC. This was made by the founding Nervi family, who ran the estate for most of the 20th century before selling in 1991 (today it belongs to Roberto Conterno). Nearly six decades on, this is about the gentle, tertiary side of old Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo, perfume and texture over fruit. Decant carefully, expect bottle variation, and drink it as the historical artifact it is.
