Ruzard is another of the named-parcel Trousseaux in Caveau de Bacchus's Cuvee des Geologues range, made by the Aviet family in Montigny-les-Arsures. Trousseau is the Jura's most expressive red grape, and the Aviets are among its old-guard champions, working in a traditional, hands-off style. This 2021 shows the parcel's particular character: bright red fruit, a wild and earthy savory streak, and a peppery, fine-tannined finish. Pale in the glass but full of personality. A characterful red for those who like to explore.
