M & C Lapierre Morgon Cuvee Marcel Lapierre 2024
This is the family's love letter to their father. Marcel Lapierre is the man most responsible for what natural Beaujolais became, and after his death his children Mathieu and Camille named the estate's flagship in his honor. The fruit comes from their oldest Morgon vines on granite, including parcels on the Cote du Py and the lieu-dit Le Douby, farmed biodynamically and fermented with native yeasts and a minimum of sulfur. It is made the way Marcel made it, which means transparency over power: chalky structure, vivid red fruit, and real depth without any heaviness. Young and lively now, but this is the Lapierre bottling that rewards a few years in the cellar.
