Trousseau is the Jura's deep-red specialty, and Caveau de Bacchus, the Aviet family's old-school estate in Montigny-les-Arsures, is one of its great champions. The Cuvee des Geologues earned its name from geologists who loved these rich, structured reds. Trousseau gives a pale-to-medium hue but plenty of personality: think red berries, a wild, earthy note and a peppery, savory grip. This 2018 has had time to settle and shows the cuvee's signature depth. A distinctive, character-driven red for the adventurous.
