Los Bermejos farms on Lanzarote, where a 1730s volcanic eruption buried the island in lava and ash, and each vine grows in its own hand-dug crater that breaks through the crust to reach soil, ringed by a low stone wall against the relentless wind. Malvasia Volcanica is the island's signature grape, and this dry ('Seco') bottling is tank-aged to keep it fresh and pure. Expect lime, pear, and white flowers over a striking volcanic minerality. One of the most distinctive whites in the world, from one of its most extreme vineyards.
