Aaron and Cara Mockrish settled in the tiny Gold Rush village of Frenchtown to farm grapes in North Yuba, and their close friendship with the Overnoy family in the Jura has shaped a singular winemaking style. Quail Run is equal parts Cinsault and Counoise from Naggiar Vineyard in Grass Valley, where the vines grow on rolling hills rather than the steep volcanic slopes of North Yuba, giving the wine a softer, more approachable shape. Co-fermented whole-cluster (no carbonic), macerated ten days, and raised in tank with minimal intervention. A juicy, perfumed, lightly chillable red.
