Felix is a collaboration between Burgenland's Wellanschitz family and their son Stefan, the natural-leaning mind behind Kolfok. The "Blau" bottling is 100% Blaufränkisch from 15-to-45-year-old vines in Unterpetersdorf, farmed organically on clay and basalt soils. Native yeast, no fining, minimal sulfur, used 1500–3000L casks from a local cooper. It comes in a full liter because it's meant to be opened on a Tuesday, poured generously, and finished. Juicy red and dark berries, a flick of white pepper, silky tannins, a refreshing finish. One of Austria's best deals in a casual red.
