The Spreitzer family has been growing Riesling in Oestrich since 1641, and brothers Andreas and Bernd have spent the last few decades proving the Rheingau can still make dry Riesling that walks a tightrope. Klosterberg is their higher, stonier site, a mix of slate, quartzite and loess, and this bottling comes from the oldest vines there, which push deeper and give less fruit but more of everything else. It is fermented cleanly and slowly, aged on its lees, and bottled without any effort to make it louder than it is. The result is a dry Riesling with tension rather than heft. Rheingau at its most honest, and a wine that will handle whatever spicy takeout you have in mind.
