For years, Valenciso made exactly one wine. Luis Valentin and Carmen Enciso, both Rioja natives with long careers in the region behind them, founded the estate for the 1998 vintage and staked everything on a single Reserva. This 2019 comes from seventeen organically managed plots scattered across Rioja Alta villages including Villalba, Gimileo, Rodezno, Briones and Haro, all Tempranillo, hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete, then aged in French oak. The style is deliberately restrained: no oak-slathered nostalgia, no shouting. It trusts you to find the depth on your own.
