Coombsville is Napa's quiet contrarian — a cool, fog-influenced AVA in the southeastern corner of the valley where the marine air rolls in off San Pablo Bay and the volcanic soils keep things mineral. It's Cabernet country for the most part, but a few growers have figured out it's also outstanding ground for Sauvignon Blanc, and Revik's Saphi Vineyard bottling makes that case loudly. There's the texture and savory depth you expect from a serious Napa white, but it's wired together by genuine acid and salinity — a Sauvignon for people who normally drink Chablis or Sancerre.
