En la Rue de Vergy is a high-elevation climat that climbs the slope above the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, where the soils thin out, the limestone bedrock pushes close to the surface, and the wines turn from plush to cool-toned and crystalline. It's a Bouvier signature: rather than chase power, Bernard chases lift, energy, and transparency. The Morey character is unmistakable — that wild-strawberry-and-iron note you find in great Clos de la Roche miniaturized — but the high-altitude site keeps everything taut and lined. A village wine with the bones of something considerably more ambitious.
