Red Car Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir Estate 2021
Twenty years ago the Red Car team went looking for the real Sonoma Coast and found it at 1,000 feet in Fort Ross-Seaview, less than four miles from the Pacific - foggy, wind-battered, and genuinely difficult. Then they made it harder on themselves, planting wild heritage field selections in 2005 that demand vine-by-vine farming. The patience has paid off. Those vines are twenty years old now, and this Estate bottling comes entirely from that original planting, made with native yeast, very little new oak, and no fining or filtration. It's the superstar of the range and, frankly, one of the best Pinot Noirs in California right now.
