Pietradolce Etna Archineri Rosso 2020
Pietradolce, founded by Michele Faro on Etna's northern contrada slopes, has become one of the modern reference points for the mountain. Archineri is their single-vineyard Nerello Mascalese, sourced from ungrafted vines over 80 years old growing on volcanic, lava-rich soils at altitude. The 2020 is classic Etna red: high-toned, transparent, mineral, and structured ā closer in shape to a serious Burgundy or Barolo than to anything Mediterranean. One of Sicily's great expressions of place.
