Morey-Blanc is the négociant arm of Pierre Morey — yes, the same Pierre Morey who spent 20 years as the head winemaker at Domaine Leflaive while also running his own celebrated Meursault estate. The Morey-Blanc label lets the family work with select purchased fruit beyond their domaine holdings, and the wines are made with the same hand: ambient fermentation, gentle handling, gravity bottling. Pitures sits mid-slope in Volnay, right against Pommard, lending this wine a touch more spine and structure than typical Volnay while keeping the appellation's signature floral lift. Anne Morey now leads the cellar work and has been turning out increasingly dialed-in reds.
