Marie Courtin Champagne Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Resonance 2022
Dominique Moreau's Marie Courtin estate is a love letter to Champagne itself. Working a single contiguous parcel in Polisot at the southern tip of the Cote des Bar, she farms biodynamically — pendulums and all — and ferments with wild yeasts in both vin clair and the bottle, a rarity in the region. Every cuvée is a single grape, single parcel, and single vintage. Résonance is her 100% Pinot Noir bottling from the crest of the hill, where the Kimmeridgian limestone presses right up under thin topsoil. The result is a Champagne of joyous energy and transparency: yellow-citrus Pinot fruit (think Sunny D and baby clementines) ringing over crushed-oyster-shell minerality. Zero dosage; the 2022 base vintage stands on its own.
