Not to be confused with Poderi Oddero. In 2006 Luigi Oddero broke away to form his own estate ā Figli Luigi Oddero ā and his children now carry it forward in a resolutely traditional style. With prized holdings including Vignarionda in Serralunga d'Alba and Rocche Rivera in Castiglione Falletto, this is a serious Langhe house. The Langhe Nebbiolo is the entry tier and a smart way in: drawn from younger vines to capture the fresher, more immediate side of the grape while still showing real bones. Native-yeast ferment, about two weeks on the skins, aged in wood. Classic perfume of dried rose and red berry, savory, and built to drink now with a plate of pasta.
