Chenin Blanc from the 'Anjou Noir'ānamed for the black schist rock that defines this corner of the Loire Valley. Le Fief Noir (meaning 'the black plot') was established in 2014 by Dominique Sirot and Alexis Soulas, who met in Corsica and searched dozens of estates before settling in Saint-Lambert du Lattay. Cartelles is a single-vineyard cuvĆ©e from soils of white sand and quartz over schist, aged 80% in stoneware jars (an unusual choice that preserves pure fruit and mineral character). Certified organic. Only 2,000 bottles produced.
