Keenan helped put Spring Mountain Merlot on the map, and their Napa Valley bottling continues that tradition. The 2022 is built around 84% Keenan estate Merlot from their mountain vineyards, where steep, gravelly slopes push the vines and give the wine real concentration. Eighteen months in a mix of French and American oak rounds it out without overwhelming the fruit. This is unapologetically a big Merlot - plush, structured, and built to age - and a strong argument for why mountain Merlot deserves more attention.
