Harvey & Harriet Paso Robles Red Blend 2021
Harvey and Harriet Jensen were farmers, not wine collectors. Their son Eric, who founded Booker in Paso Robles, named this wine for them and built it around a simple question: what would hardworking people who like a good bottle actually want to drink? The answer is a generous Paso red, anchored by Cabernet and filled out with Bordeaux and Rhone partners, sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards run by friends and held to his own estate's standards. Eighteen months in French oak, about half of it new, gives it polish without turning it into a lumberyard. The 2021 is rich and full-bodied and unapologetically Californian, and it has become one of the shop's quiet workhorses for good reason.
