Kevin Judd was the founding winemaker at Cloudy Bay for 25 years before starting Greywacke in 2009, named for the grey river stones in Marlborough's soils. Marlborough is far better known for Sauvignon Blanc, but Judd's Pinot Noir makes a quiet case for the region's reds.
