Kevin Judd spent 25 years as the founding winemaker at Cloudy Bay ā the wine that made Marlborough famous ā before launching Greywacke under his own name in 2009. The estate takes its name from the greywacke river stones that pave Marlborough's soils. This Chardonnay shows the more serious, Burgundy-leaning side of the project: wild-yeast fermented and barrel-aged for texture and complexity, a world away from simple New World fruit bombs.
