Ghostnote Wines Corvina Caleri Vineyard 2024
Corvina is the backbone of Valpolicella and Amarone, and outside the Veneto it's almost unheard of. Ghostnote founder Brad Friedman is one of a tiny handful of California producers giving it a serious go, sourcing from the Calleri block of Siletto Family Vineyard in San Benito County. Organic, own-rooted vines, native fermentation, sixteen months in neutral oak, bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine is lifted and silky in the Corvina mold, with fine silty tannins and a savory edge that points back to the Veneto while staying very much its own thing.
