Verduno's magic comes from soils and position, and Burlotto is the producer who put this northerly corner of Barolo on the map. These are among the most northern vineyards of the Barolo zone, a touch cooler and more resistant to the heat waves of recent vintages, planted on a complex mix of clay, limestone, silt, sandstone, and strains of chalk. In 2022, a challenging year, Burlotto skipped its named crus (Monvigliero, Cannubi, Acclivi) and poured everything into this classic Barolo, a blend of Nebbiolo from across the estate's Verduno parcels. The result is bright, even piercing, with the unmistakable Piemontese fruit, floral lift, and spice that make these wines so compelling. Traditionally made and built to reward a few years in the cellar.
