The easiest way into one of Champagne's most sought-after addresses. Les Premices comes from the family's newest vineyard -- taken over in 2016 from the maternal side of the family, in Trigny in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, where the soils are sandier than the chalk of Ambonnay. It's an even split of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, vinified in tank rather than barrel, and it carries all the Egly hallmarks: ripe fruit, real texture, and a dosage so low it barely registers.
