Dumol Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Wester Reach 2023
Most appellation-level Pinot is what didn't make the cut for the single-vineyards. Wester Reach is the opposite: a deliberate tour of the Russian River Valley, blending DuMOL's own estate blocks with vineyards they've planted, farmed and harvested for over twenty-five years -- from the warmer valley floor out to the coolest western reaches where fog and coastal ridges keep things tense. Roughly half the fruit is estate-grown. The result is a Pinot that's dark-fruited and plush but never soupy, with the kind of lift that makes you go back for another glass rather than another nap. It drinks beautifully now and has plenty of road ahead.
