Domaine Michel Gros Echezeaux Les Loachausses 2023
Michel Gros is a sixth-generation Vosne-Romanée vigneron — modest, unassuming, and quietly one of the village's most reliable hands. Les Loächausses is a specific climat within Echézeaux Grand Cru, a 2.5-hectare lieu-dit in the southern half of the cru, bordering the legendary Cruots ou Vignes Blanches that Henri Jayer called the appellation's best terroir. Michel Gros began bottling this 0.38-hectare strip on its own from the 2022 vintage onward, after the parcel had been part of the family's Gros Frère et Sœur cuvée; this is still a freshly named release at the domaine. The hallmarks are the same as his Clos des Réas: buoyant raspberry fruit, velvety texture, and beautiful underlying minerality, now scaled up to grand cru weight.
