Arbois is the historic heart of the Jura and one of France's very first AOCs, and Domaine Ligier farms 10 hectares right there on precious blue marl and Triassic clay slopes, treating every bottle, sparkling or still, with equal seriousness. This is their still Arbois Chardonnay, grown on the same savory marl and clay that gives the region its distinctive power. Unlike the chalk-grown Chardonnays of Champagne, Ligier's fruit has broader shoulders and a deeper, more savory texture. The 2023 carries real Arbois salinity and grip.
