Macvin is made by halting grape juice with Marc du Jura, the region's own grape brandy, to land somewhere between a sweet wine and a fine liqueur. This 2019 bottling from Domaine Labet, the acclaimed family estate in Rotalier run by Julien Labet alongside Charline and Romain, is built on the Jura's white grapes and aged in old casks until it deepens to old gold with amber tones. The vintage gives it focus: orange zest, dried apricot and quince wrapped around a warming, spice-laced finish. A classic end to a long dinner.
